Mold Medic - About Us
The idea for Mold Medic was spawned in September 0f 2003. Our founder had
been working in the mold business for several years as a certified mold
remediator in the state of Maryland. Before becoming certified, he owned
and operated several cleaning and construction companies that continually
brought him clients that suffered from mold problems.
Hurricane Isabel blasted the East coast in September of 2003. Strong winds
and an extremely heavy storm surge caused rampant flooding and other property
damage. On Maryland’s Eastern Shore alone, 1100 people were forced
out of their homes and into shelters. Fortunately, President Bush declared
a major disaster for Maryland and authorized FEMA (Federal Emergency Management
Agency) to disburse funds to help those suffering from the effects of Isabel.
After witnessing the devastation suffered by dozens of businesses, homeowners,
and boat owners, we began to think how we could help these people. Our immediate
solution was to offer professional advice on how to prevent mold growth
from water infiltration. In cases where it was too late, we worked with
property owners to provide cost-effective solutions to quickly get their
lives back to normal.
We worked through many challenges, including: insurance companies unwilling
to pay for our work, clients who needed to be educated about mold and its
effects, and a growing back-log of clients who needed our services. Due
to the nature of mold, the more time that passed before we could help them,
the worse their problems became.
We began to have discussions about how much time, money, and aggravation
we could save clients if we had a product that could be safely and easily
used by any property owner. This was the beginning of Mold Medic, a line
of safe, easy-to-use products that can be used both proactively and reactively
to inhibit the growth of mold, mildew, and viruses.
Our excitement level for this unique solution is incredible! In less than
one year, we have gone from a desire to help property owners tackle a common
issue to the development of a full line of products that are EPA approved,
easy to use, and readily available.
Our goal is to greatly reduce our client’s fear of mold through education
about our products and their intended uses. Safe, easy, and effective solutions
